	Biography
	When Lance was maybe two years old, he was abandoned at a rundown old orphanage where the children were, quite frankly, treated horribly, whipped when they did wrong and given stale food. The only clue left at the orphanage was his mother’s parting words, stating that his future looked brighter should he stay there. Crazy lady, obviously, thought the orphanage director. Lance lived there for six years, during the course of which many strange things often happened (the strangest being the directors finding him sitting atop the banisters of the dining hall at the age of four) before he was adopted by two elderly, kindly Muggles who thought his bright eyes and cheery smile were ‘just adorable’. They raised him well, cheerfully describing the unusual circumstances that surrounded the boy as ‘side-effects of growing up.’ Imagine their surprise when, not too long after Lance’s eleventh birthday, a bloody owl sat perched on their front windowsill, staring in at them with a letter poking out of it’s beak and a magenta wax seal on the folds. Turns out his ‘psychic’ birth mother actually was a psychic, meaning a witch, and Lance inherited her skills. Would you look at that? Lance spent the years in Hogwarts excelling in all classes, amongst them Divination, just as his birth mother had. The teacher was thrilled at his success and Lance, well. Lance didn’t have the heart to tell the poor woman that he was basically using logic and behavioral patterns to predict people’s future movements. It was this flair for knowing how other people think that helped him throughout his school years (being intelligent helped, of course). After he graduated, Lance was not entirely sure what to do with himself, and thought of working in the Ministry for a while. However, when his adoptive parents died within weeks of each other, he thought back to his early childhood and this left him with the belief that ‘broken people can be saved by people with good hearts’. With that mindset, he went through necessary training and degrees and applied to work at Hogwarts as a counselor for students, remembering his rough time growing up and wanting to help ease that for others, if only he could help it. Due to his youth, people often mistake him for a student and he has to show his ID before he can order drinks at a bar, and this is of the things that irritates him just a tad.
Personality
Despite his fairly tragic start at life, Sweets is an optimistic and smiling young man with a near-abnormal ability to predict behavior using psychoanalysis. Sweets is observant, kind, and, despite his rather vast intelligence, is somewhat childish, as he is wont to use rather adolescent words such as “dude” or “awesome”. He also has somewhat of a tendency to let others hear his input regardless of whether or not they may want to hear it, though (thankfully for him) they oftentimes do require his thoughts. Sweets has been described as a ‘portable Polygraph’ due to his uncanny ability to tell whenever someone is lying, though, in a strange paradox, he doesn’t appear to lie very well himself. Despite his often annoyingly-cheerful attitude, the lad’s a huge fan of death metal, go figure. It doesn’t suit his personality, exactly, but everyone has their quirks, no? However, for all his optimism, there seems to be an veiled, darker element of his personality that remains to be seen.
Relationships
Dr. Jonathan Crane It appears as though they will be working together on a small basis in the near future, both being guidance counselors, but other than that, they remain simply colleagues.
